5th National Youth Camp 2015 Management Team

Ghulam Muhammad Awan
(Secretary General)
Dear Camp
Participants!!
Assalam- o-alaikum!
My name is Ghulam Muhammad Awan and I am Secretary General of Pakistan Red
Crescent Society. It is very satisfying and heartwarming for me to engage with
young volunteers of PRCS on the occasion of PRCS National Youth Camp 2015. The
theme of this year’s Camp is Young, Global, and Active. We, at PRCS, are
committed to invest in developing the capacities of young humanitarians
who have faith and commitment to selflessly serve the humanity.
In the
aftermath of recent disasters that hit different parts of Pakistan, the
dedicated volunteers of PRCS have reached out to the affected communities to
help them in hostile and dangerous conditions, showing resilience, commitment,
solidarity and a vision to stand tall and put collective good before their
lives and wellbeing. You make us all proud.
It is our
endeavor to equip you with the tools to combat challenges in the most effective
manner. We have designed this camp to provide you with maximum knowledge in an
interactive environment. The Camp shall be focusing on being Together for
Humanity, respect for diversity, youth empowerment, enabling environment for
youth and change comes from within. We also aim to promote harmony by exposing
you to different cultures and lifestyles.
I wish you
all, Good Luck!

Dawar Adnan Shams
(Deputy Director Y&V)
“National
Youth & Volunteer Camp to me is not only to provide our youth with a
platform to identify problems and make decisions in resolving these issues, but
also to empower them with the tools that will enable them to make educated
choices and decisions. The youth of today is the future
of tomorrow is contradictory to me, because they are our PRESENT
NOT FUTURE. We need to invest in them today, and to engage them. Our younger
generation has the power and all they need is for us to channelize it.
On that note I welcome
you to the camp with a hope that you will make the most of it. Happy camping!”

Hello
young humanitarians, I am Saboor Kakar National Youth leader of PRCS. The best
way to make your dream come true is to wake up.
“You must take personal
responsibility. You cannot change the cir cumstances, the seasons,
or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.
You don't have charge of the constellations, but you do have charge of whether
you read, develop new skills, take new lessons and use them first for pr osperity,
then for yourself. Let ’s bring change in our
behaviours and serve humanity”

Sayed
Manzoor Jan
Aslam o alikum ,Dear young leaders, my name is Sayed
Manzoor Jan, volunteering with Pakistan Red Crescent society since last 8 years.
This is a remarkable experience of my life. I am also a facilitator of NDRT (
national disaster response team ), YABC ( youth as a agent of behavioural
change ), Youth Development and PSP. Through this journey I have learned one
thing "Voluntary service is a Universal ethic, not dependent of social
status, wealth or power but rather on enthusiastic people coming together to
get great things done". Dear camp leaders possibilities and passion can
meet to create a true change. ..so never settle, dream big, give all of your
heart, the world needs you, the world need us.

Farhan Sohail
After
the 4 successful camps, we are ready to face in 2015, the 5th PRCS
National youth and volunteer camp in Islamabad. I find myself honored to be a
part of all these 5 camps.
The
Youth Camp must not be seen merely as a 6-days experience where the Youth can have
fun, true as it may be, but it must be seen in the light of its over-all
objectives, to fully appreciate its value and to make the most out of it. We
should realize that the Youth Camp is not an end in itself. It is not just for
amusement that will give the Youth something to do during 6 days, but it is
rather the beginning of what will hopefully be a lifetime commitment towards
their responsibilities.
The
Youth Camp is a venue where the Youth can form lasting friendships with one
another, as well as, share ideas and experiences in a fun and wholesome
environment, through
active participation in different activities.I
hope these 6 days will give you pleasant memories that will last for a long
time.Looking
forward to welcome you in NYC 2015.
